Campo Santo is a small video game studio working on our second project. We're looking for an intern to help take care of our low-level day-to-day office needs, and who's also enthusiastic to learn about video game development up close—particularly at a small, tight-knit independent company like ours.
This is a six-month paid internship, reporting to our company office manager and our producer. The role is best suited to applicants who have a genuine interest in how the creative sausage gets made, and is capable of exhibiting care and attention to detail even when executing menial tasks. While defined daily responsibilities will be the intern's first priority, there will be many chances to learn more about the production and business realities of video game development. Depending on the specific individual's abilities and interests, there could also be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities on the team. You may also have the chance to join other members of the team in traveling to events and trade shows.
This 6-month position is onsite in our downtown San Francisco office for 2-3 hours, 3-4 days a week. The schedule is flexible, but as a company we do tend to keep later core hours (11am-5pm) and availability in the afternoons and for occasional full days is a plus. You must have authorization to work in the US.
We encourage applicants of all backgrounds to apply. All applicants will be considered without attention to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
Core duties:
- Collect and distribute mail and packages, run errands outside the office, accept deliveries, answer the phone and meet with maintenance personnel.
- Assist with information management: annotate meeting videos, scan and file receipts and paperwork.
- Assist with office event and trade show preparation.
- Assist with merchandise, take photos of new store items, coordinate runs to merchandise warehouse.
- Track and purchase office food and supplies.
- Maintain the office by cleaning up the kitchen and office area, breaking down recycling, taking out the trash and cleaning out the fridge.
- Utilize Google platform applications (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Sheets) and Microsoft Office to facilitate communication.
- Other tasks as needed.
Ideal applicants will:
- Have an interest in video game development and small businesses.
- Be self-motivated, organized, and personable, with the ability to prioritize, shift focus, and follow through on tasks accordingly.
- Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Hold a driver's license (we will provide parking when needed).
